William “Bud” Francis Sinn

Worland native and longtime resident William “Bud” Francis Sinn, 86, died after a long and happy life on Wednesday March 30, 2016 at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, MT.

Bud was born on September 11, 1929 on a farm south of Worland to George F. Sinn Sr. and Eva E. (Euler) Sinn. He was the youngest of the three children. He was a graduate of Worland High School, and after graduation Bud worked for local area farmers and ranchers herding sheep, scooping sugar beets, feeding cattle, etc. until joining up with his father and brother George Sinn Jr. on the family farm north of Worland. Herding sheep in the badlands was one of Bud's favorite times of his life and he often told stories about it to family and friends. Bud was one of the youngest school bus drivers for Washakie County School district.

On December 9, 1956 Bud married the love of his life Jean Lewis, who was a Ten Sleep native and Worland resident. Bud and Jean raised their family on the farm helping their children participate in 4-H, FFA, and other school activities.

Survivors include his longtime companion Dot (the dog), two daughters Judy Baker of Casper, WY and Kathy Dokter of Loveland, CO.; two sons Don of Manderson, WY and Lial, who farmed with his father in Worland, 9 grandchildren, Kayla Sinn Gyorick, Brendon Sinn, Ramsey Sinn, Levi Sinn, Jared & Jason Baker, Alyssa Jacomet, Justin (Natalie) Dokter, and Johnathan Dokter,1 great grandson Hudson.

Bud loved to work with animals including horses, cattle, sheep, and dogs. Rarely did you see Bud without one of his dogs.  Bud enjoyed Wyoming history, rodeo, politics, and most of all spending time with family.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife (Jean), his brother (George, Jr.) and his sister (Lois M. Quick).

The service is scheduled for 10 a.m. At Grace Lutheran Church in Worland, with Pastor Tim Trippel officiating. A public viewing will be available 1 hour before the service.
