Amalia "Millie" Snider
February 3, 1935 – September 18, 2019
Millie Snider was born Amalia Habersatter, on Feb 3, 1935 in Radstadt, Austria to Mathias and Amalia(Erlbacher) Habersatter. She grew into a beautiful young woman during World War II in war torn Europe. In 1956, with her husband and infant son, Millie immigrated to the United States, but proudly maintained her Austrian heritage. She lived in various small towns scattered across Wyoming and Montana before permanently settling in Worland in 1964. Millie worked tirelessly at different jobs struggling to support her children. She even spent a fall driving beet truck for the Holly Sugar factory. During this time, Millie proudly became a US citizen. Millie finally found her calling in 1969, beginning her 46-year career, selflessly caring for patients at the Worland hospital. She retired in 2015 but continued caring for others, always putting their needs ahead of her own. After a brave and brutal 2 ½ month battle with a terrible infection, her body finally succumbed and Millie peacefully passed away on September 18, 2019 in Laurel Montana. Millie is survived by a brother and many natural and adopted children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who carry her in their hearts. She will be missed.
