Andrew David Ankeny

Andrew David Ankeny, 79, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2018 at his home in Worland surrounded by loved ones.
Andrew was born in Garland, Wyoming on August 1, 1939 to Carrol Edwin and Martha Johanna (Blankenship) Ankney.
After his father's death, the family moved to Powell in 1945. He started school in Greybull in 1948, where he was very active in sports. He later served in the Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1957.
He met the love of his life, Annita Skovgard, and they were wed on November 5th, 1960. To this union five wonderful children were born. While the children were young he lived and farmed in the Worland area. In 1978 he started D.A. Roofing and worked in various areas including Kauai, HI. He retired after roofing for 35 years.
Grandpa enjoyed fishing, hunting, doing yard work and working in his garden. When it was too cold to go outside he enjoyed working on puzzles, baking banana bread, and making his famous peanut brittle for Christmas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law, Mark Behrens of Tuscon, AZ and his adopted family George and Betty Haun of Greybull and Ed and LaVonne Haun.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Annita Ankeny and all five children, Lark Behrens of Tucson, AZ, Robyn Ashe (Kevin) of San Jose CA, Shelley Chico (Leroy) of Porterville, CA, David J. Ankeny (Delta) of Worland, and Kimberley Lippert (Sam) of Paicines, CA, 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Roberta Powell (Bill) of Gillette, and brother Larry Ankeny of Powell.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m., October 5 at the Eagles Lodge. Memorial donations can be made to Hoops for Hope c/o Bryant Funeral Home, PO Box 524. Bryant Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
