Arla L. White was born on June 6, 1911 in Morgan County, Colorado to Leo & Irene “Ely” Wachtel.
Mrs. White graduated from High School in Wiggins, Colorado in 1929. She then attended Pharmaceutical School in Denver. After graduation she moved back home where she helped her father in the Drug Store.
She was married to Roy White on August 8, 1935 in Boulder, Colorado. Mrs. White raised her family in several communities in Wyoming. They moved to Worland in 1951 where they owned and operated the Husky Gas and Bulk Plant from 1962 until 1973. Arla had been a resident of the Big Horn Basin for over 50 years. She was a member of the Worland Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Circle group, the Garden Club and the Rebecca’s Club for several years. She continued to live in Worland until the time of her death.
Arla is survived by her, son Howard of Lakewood, Colorado, four grandchildren, Susan Burch of Houston, TX, Thomas White of Hugo, CO, Mark White of Flandreau, SD and Heidi White of Lakewood, CO and 5 great-grandchildren.
Her parents, two sisters, and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, at the Presbyterian Church in Worland with Reverend Bill Foster officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Ruth Esther Circle in care of the Bryant Funeral Home PO Box 524 Worland, WY 82401. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
