Beatrice M. Rataezyk, 87 year old, Worland resident, died May 26, 2008 at the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin after a brief stay.

Bea was born on December 15, 1920 in Phelps, Wisconsin, a daughter of Bert A. and Millie (Jude) Hodge. At an early age Bea moved to Worland where she received her education at the Washakie County High School.

She was married on July 26, 1939 in Worland to Conrad Rataezyk. They moved to Manderson, Wyoming where they lived until Con was drafted into the armed services in 1944. It was during this time that Bea moved to Worland. After he was discharged from the military, they continued to live in Worland where they raised their 4 daughters, Helen, Elayne, Barbara and Mary. Bea took great pride in being a homemaker, taking care of her girls, she loved to sew and made many of the girl’s clothes.

Through the years Bea worked for Merz Bakery, Worland Laundry and for the past 25 years had great joy in being a foster grandparent in the Worland schools working in the elementary and with the special needs children.

Her hobbies include; all types of needle work, sewing, reading, puzzles and working word puzzles. She was a member of St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, the Alter and Rosary Society, and the VFW Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Con, daughter Helen, son-in-law Joe Salzman, four brothers, two sisters, and grandsons Rodney and Dean Bihr. She is survived by her daughters; Barbara (Bill) Perry, Mary Mallow and Elayne Salzman all of Worland, brother Faye Russell of Marquette, Wisconsin, sister Joyce Davis of Knights Landing, California, sister in law Glayds Hodge of Wisconsin, grandchildren, Connie, Curtis, Cheryl, Robert, Julie, Brian, Ronald and Scott, great grandchildren Colton, Cenzie, Andrew, Kayla and Brendon.
