Bernard Michael Beauvais
February 5, 1946 – January 19, 2021
Bernard Michael Beauvais, 74-year-old Worland resident passed away on January 19, 2021 at St. Vincent Healthcare Center in Billings, Montana.
Mike was born on February 5, 1946 in Pueblo, Colorado to Joseph U. and Marie Anna (Ballis) Beauvais. He grew up in Pueblo, the youngest of eight children, graduating from Central High School in Pueblo, Colorado. He was active in both baseball and football during his high school years.
He married Patricia Owens and to this union two sons were born, Shawn and Troy. The couple later divorced. The boys would come visit during the summers and some holidays.
Mike moved to Baggs, WY where he worked as a miner and an oil rig driller until about 1981. It was during this time that he met Sally Anne McDonald in Cheyenne, WY. The couple was married on May 20, 1975 in Pueblo, CO. This union brought the adoption of Donnette and Cary. While living in Baggs, they owned and ran a laundromat. He also bartended when he was not in the oil field. The couple moved to Worland in 1981 where he worked for the Wyoming Boys School as a guard. For a few years, he also worked with his son, Shawn refurbishing FHA homes. For a short time, he was employed as a janitor in the Washakie County School District#1 and also worked for the US Post Office taking mail from Cody to Worland. After his retirement, he dedicated his time as a member and a bartender for the Eagles Lodge. He loved helping with their lunches, dinners and Bingo nights. He was honored to be "Santa's helper" as he donned the bright red suit one year for the Christmas Party.
Mike was an avid Bronco's fan as well as WWE Wrestling. He enjoyed collecting eagles. He was dedicated to his family and never forgot a birthday or holiday for his children. A favorite memory of his grandchildren was when he would call to sing happy birthday, completely off key. When he could not be there in person, he was always there in spirit. In his sister's words, "He was a simple man with a big heart!"
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally Anne; brothers, Jack, Mix and Joe Beauvais; sisters, Elizabeth Chavez and JoAnn Dehn.
Survivors include, his sons, Shawn (Karen) Beauvais of Mt. Holly, NJ, Troy (Adelina) Beauvais of Westampton, NJ, Cary Beauvais of Worland, WY; daughter, Donnette Boger of Rochester, MN; five grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Ken Beauvais of Broomfield, CO; sister, Kay Perkins of Pueblo, Colorado along with several nieces and nephews.
