Obituary
Billy Ray Dyer
September 16, 1946- November 6, 2021
Billy Ray Dyer joined our Heavenly Father on November 6, 2021, at the age of 75, at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Ogden, Utah. His battle with medical issues in recent months showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Billy came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Billy was born in Denver, Colorado on September 16, 1946. Billy and his brother, Frederick were adopted by Walter Gerald Anderson and Louise Albertina (Odlund) Dyer of Worland, Wyoming in 1951.
As a child, Billy loved growing up in a small town in Wyoming. He would often tell stories about having a mother who was a teacher and how he hated to read but later on in life could always be found with a book in hand. He loved talking about the trips they would take to Crawford, Nebraska for family reunions. Billy graduated from Worland High School in 1966. He joined the Army National Guard and later transferred to the Navy to serve in Vietnam.
Upon returning from Vietnam, Billy put down roots in Worland and began working for Holly Sugar. He was blessed with two children, Korrie Bruce and Brian Ray Dyer.
Billy was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish anything Wyoming and the Bighorn mountains had to offer.
The thing he loved the most was being a Papa. He always said he wished he could have had grandchildren first. He loved passing down his wisdom, stories and jokes to his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Louise, grandparents and many aunts and uncles.
Billy is survived by his son Brian (Ashley) Dyer; daughter, Korrie Bruce; brother, Frederick (Deanna) Dyer; Grandchildren, Amiee, Alanna, Wyatt, Brian Jr., Austin, Lillian; many nephews and nieces and adoptive children and grandchildren.
