Obituary

Breanna Mitchell

December 3, 1994 – July 2023

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Breanna Chelsey Mitchell. Born on December 3, 1994, to Michael Earl Mitchell and Tina Marie Patrick, Breanna's light touched the lives of everyone she met.

Breanna was a sweet, kind-hearted, and joyful soul who had an infectious spirit. She was always singing, sharing her music with everyone around, and greeted every person she met as though they were an old friend. No one was ever a stranger to Breanna. As a child, she formed a special bond with her neighbor, Mr. Renner. She would eagerly watch for him through the window, following him around the yard with a cheerful "Hey neighbor, what you doing?" He lovingly gave her the nickname "Gabby," and their daily conversations became treasured memories. It's a memory that brings warmth to our hearts even now.

Breanna's love for animals was unmatched. She was rarely without a dog or cat at her side, and her bond with her horse was especially strong. She worked tirelessly to train him, and in the end, the trust they shared was undeniable. Breanna's patience and dedication were evident in everything she did, especially with animals, and the connection she formed with them was a testament to her loving nature.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Breanna enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. As a child, she delighted in the simple joy of holding "nerms" (worms), spending hours playing with them. Her compassion extended to all living things, and when she cared for bum lambs, she experienced her first heartbreak when one of them passed. The loss deeply affected her, and she cried for each lamb she loved.

Breanna's love was just as big for the people in her life. She gave her heart freely and completely, and those who knew her were blessed by her presence. We will forever cherish the time we shared with her. She truly was a gift from above, and the hole she leaves in our hearts is immeasurable.

In her final moments, Breanna expressed deep fear for her safety, leaving behind a written message that continues to haunt her family:

"I hate to admit it, but I am genuinely terrified for myself and my life."

Tragically, Breanna's life ended in a way that has left us broken, and we continue to seek justice for her. Someone knows what happened, and her family pleads for answers.

May Breanna finally find the peace she so desperately sought.

In honor of Breanna's memory, donations may be made to the Washakie County Search and Rescue, whose dedicated volunteers spent countless hours searching for Breanna. Their commitment to our community has been invaluable. Donations can be sent to: PO Box 524, Worland, Wyoming 82401.
