Obituary Charles Gonzales May 18, 2019 Charles Gonzales, 87-year-old Worland resident passed away on May 18, 2019 in Laramie, Wyoming. Charles was born on July 18, 1931 in Torrington, Wyoming to Jose and Rafaela (Campos) Gonzales. After receiving his early education in Superior, Wyoming, the family moved to California. He served his country during the Korean Conflict for a year. It was in Riverside, California that he met his future bride, Hope Leyva. The couple was married February 21, 1964. They lived there for 3 years before returning to Wyoming and making their home in Worland. Charles started doing odd jobs working and then got a job at the block plant, also working campaign at Holly Sugar/ He later went to work for the City of Worland where was employed for over a decade. He left the city to work for Pepsi and then as a custodian at the Worland Community Center Complex. He returned to work at Wyoming Sugar until his health wouldn't permit. Charles entered the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in August of 2018. His family rallied around him, moving he and Hope to Laramie to live with a granddaughter, Ashlei and her family for his final weeks. Charles loved Mexican music and bike riding. He enjoyed attending yard sales and collecting various items, especially radios, watches and flashlights. He was an avid storyteller. The family remember many tales he told as they spent time camping. What gave him the most joy was his beloved "Cuckaracha", Hope. He was quick to make friends and just as quick to make an enemy. As he got older he had a "get down to business" personality. Dementia robbed him of his memories and much of his friendliness. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Charlie and Joseph Andrew; grandson, Julian Delarosa; great-grandson, Baby Julian; brothers, Frank, Raymond, Richie, Salvador, and Joe; sisters, Freida, Rosie, Lupe; special son-in-law, Jr. Delarosa. Survivors include his wife, Hope of Worland, daughters, Shelly (Jesse) Hernandez of Worland, Madeline Delarosa of Lakewood, CO, Charlene Gonzales (Valentin Segovia) of Denver, CO and Priscilla (Everado) Zuniga; grandchildren, Joseph Espinoza, Charles Delarosa, Richard Espinoza, Latoya Delarosa, Ashlei Martinexz, Rico Delarosa, Andrea Holguin, Ponkie Holguin, Dayanna Holguin, Angel Delarosa, Rosie Holguin, Carlos Zuniga and Daniel Zuniga; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson; brother Ralph Gonzales of Las Vegas, NV; and sister, Susie Salazar of Riverside, CA. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2019 at Mount Calvary Assembly of God Church. Visitation for friends and family will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Following the services, a luncheon will be held at the Worland Community Center Complex Conference Room.
