Clara Stella Stanley Allred, 90 year old, Ten Sleep, Wyoming resident died on November 27, 2004 at the Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis.

She was born March 22, 1914 to Emmett Wesley and Mabel Johnson Stanley at Fort Benton, Montana.

At the age of two, she was brought to Ten Sleep to stay with her Aunt and Uncle William and Stella Lewis while her mother had surgery in Thermopolis. Clara's mother passed away following that surgery and Clara was raised by the Lewis family.

She received her elementary education in the older Bader School House on the Lower Nowood. She was a member of the Graduating Class of 1933 from the Ten Sleep High School. On June 3, 1933, she married a local boy, Golden Myron Allred. To this union was born four children, Howard Stanley, Myrona Lee, Willard Burton, and Lonnie Rae.

Golden and Clara ranched both on Otter Creek and Lower Nowood until 1955. At that time they built the Valley Motel in Ten Sleep, which they operated until they retired in 1970. Retirement lasted only one year, as she and Golden would move to Otter Creek grazing Association, where they worked for eight years before retiring again for the finial time. Clara became active in the Ten Sleep Senior Citizens Center and served 2 terms as president, remaining active until moving to the Pioneer Home in Thermopolis in September of 2003.

Clara and Golden were both known for their gardens. Clara was known also for her quilting skills. At the time of her death, she was working on a quilt for her great granddaughter.

Clara is preceded in death by her parents; husband; Golden M. Allred on May 24, 1988, son, H. Stanley Allred, as well as four brothers, three sisters, and 1 great grandson.

She is survived by one daughter; Myrona Apland of Thermopolis, WY. two sons; Willard Allred of Ten Sleep, WY, Lonnie Allred of Riverton, WY, daughter in law Dawn Allred of Ten Sleep, 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ten Sleep Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Saints Church with Bishop Terril Mills officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at the Ten Sleep Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Ten Sleep Senior Citizens Center in care of Bryant Funeral Home PO Box 524 Worland, WY 82401.
