Claude Carlton Craft Sr.

Claude C. Craft Sr., 92, long time Basin and Manderson resident went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 6, 2026 at his home in Basin, Wyoming, surrounded by his family.

Claude was born May 16, 1934 in Durkee, Wyoming. He grew up in the footsteps of his father, Henry Craft and mother, Lena (Hert) who were German immigrants from the Volga region of Russia. Claude farmed several places in Manderson, eventually buying his own acreage in Manderson in 1967 where he raised his three children. Claude was a farmer for a good share of his life. After selling the farm, he spent the last 17 years of his working career delivering bulk fuel for Murdoch Oil in Greybull.

He married Josephine Cornett on May 17, 1958 in Hyattville, Wyoming. They were married for 48 years and brought three children into the world, Claude Jr., Marcia and Gary. After his retirement he enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Claude was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Josephine; brothers, George, Bill and Lloyd; sisters, Viola Faure, Margaret Akers and Helen Benson.

He is survived by his sons, Claude (Trudy) Craft Jr. of Basin, Gary (Cindy) Craft of Sheridan; daughter, Marcia Craft (Jason Jameson) of Worland; sister-in-law, Pati (Alan) McKim of Basin; grandchildren, Shaya (Jack) Weinmeister, Wacey Craft, Evan (Courtney) Bock, Katie (Frank) Frazio, KaLena West, Jamie (Steven) Falcon and Grady (Zoe) Craft; great-grandchildren: Palmer, Sawyer, Delane, Blakley, Jack, Carder, Reece and Maelie.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday August 22, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Basin, Wyoming with Pastor Aaron Gesch officiating.
