Obituary

Clifford Mark Carrell

November 6, 1954 – February 26, 2026

Clifford Mark Carrell passed away peacefully Thursday, February 26th. Cliff was born in Worland, Wyoming in 1954 to parents Helen and William (Bill) Carrell, and is survived by his: three children, Natalee, Cody, and Cheyenne; six grandchildren, Tayler, Cody, Madelaine, Charlotte, Miriam, and Russell; two great-grandchildren, Silas and Magnolia; and brother, Dean.

Cliff grew up in Casper, Wyoming, where he learned to love the mountains, rivers, and badlands of his favorite state. After high school, Cliff attended Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon for one semester of fun, before returning to Wyoming to work as a carpenter and other odd jobs until he returned and finished school at Anderson College in Indiana. Always one to embrace adventure, Cliff moved to Alaska to work as a teacher in a remote eskimo village called Akiachak. He taught there in the winters, and learned to hunt, trap and fish like a native. In the summers he worked as a commercial fisherman on a salmon boat, and as a guide at a fishing lodge.

Cliff eventually moved to Oshkosh, WI in 1991, where he settled down and began his career as the dean of students at South Park Middle School. He spent over 25 years in Oshkosh, where he raised his children, made lifelong friends, and enjoyed his extensive list of hobbies. Cliff was full of life and there was rarely a dull moment when you were with him. He had a lifelong love of animals and rarely lived without a pet — or four. He liked to say he would "try anything twice," and he lived that way every day. He raised pigeons, fished as often as possible, hunted everything from elk in Wyoming to ducks in Wisconsin, golfed more than he probably should have, and when he was done with all of that, he'd always be the first to suggest a night of karaoke and drinks. Cliff will be remembered as an authentic, sweet, and caring man, with a wonderful sense of humor, and a love of life. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Cliff on Saturday July 18, 2026 at 1:00PM at the Worland Senior Center.
