Obituary
Danny Harold Spann
December 7, 1950 – May 29, 2025
Danny Harold Spann began his life's journey on December 7, 1950, in Gilmer, Texas. His parents, Harold and Joy Spann, were overjoyed to welcome their firstborn. Soon after, the family moved to Emory, Texas, where Danny's brothers, Tom and Joe, were born. The family moved once more to Athens, Texas, where Danny graduated from high school. In 1970, Danny was drafted into the Vietnam War, elected to join the Air Force, and finished his service in Thailand; receiving an honorable discharge in 1975. Because of his training, he was rewarded with a stable 45-year career as an avionics technician. His career began at Love Field Airport in Dallas, Texas, where he would come to meet Carolyn while square dancing. The two were married on December 16, 1978. In 2015, they moved to Thermopolis, Wyoming. Looking for something to keep him busy, Danny got a job with the United States Postal Service and proudly worked there until retiring in 2024. This job was the most satisfying job he ever had. In 2022, Danny received his cancer diagnosis. He fought hard for 3 years before succumbing on May 29, 2025.
Danny was predeceased by his parents; his son, Wesley Scott, and many others.
He leaves behind to cherish many wonderful memories, his wife, Carolyn; sons, Daniel Spann and Brandon Warde; brothers, Tom (Jackie) Spann, Joseph (Leslie) Spann; Grandchildren: Zackery, Kiersten, Peyton, Blaine and Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Hendrix, Hudson, Brooks, Atlas and Amora.
A celebration of life will be at the Thermopolis First Baptist Church on Friday, June 27th, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Tony Newhouse officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Thermopolis First Baptist Church. Please send checks to PO Box 524 Worland, Wyoming 82401. Online condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
