Darlene Sellers Youtz

Darlene Sellers Youtz died peacefully with her family by her side on April 7, 2010 at the Washakie Medical Center.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 1, 1929. Her parents were Orme F. and Helen I. (Howard) Sellers. She was the fourth of six children. The family lived in Piedmont, Wyoming until she was in sixth grade. They then moved to Mountain View where Darlene graduated from high school in 1946. She attended the University of Wyoming for two years in the College of Business, majoring in secretarial science.

On December 28, 1947 Darlene married Roger J. Youtz in Mountain View. Roger’s teaching career took the family to Albin, Veteran, and Greybull and in 1958 to Worland where they have since lived. They had three daughters, Kaye, Susan and Diana.

Darlene worked at many jobs in Worland, but her favorite memories were working for City Engineer Jack Donnell and his staff. Darlene loved to travel and enjoyed the six Elderhostels she and Roger attended. Her favorite destination was Branson, Missouri, where she vacationed eleven times.

She was preceded in death by her parents Orme and Helen; sisters: Peggy, Eleanor and Jerry, and brother Frances.

Darlene is survived by her husband Roger of 62 years, daughters Kaye (Roger) Turner, Pocatello, Idaho; Susan Youtz (Stefanie) Denver, CO, and Diana (Gary) Shipley also of Pocatello; her two grandsons Travis and Max Shipley; her brother Herb Sellers of Casper, WY, and numerous nieces and nephews. Darlene was greatly loved and will be missed.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Worland on April 14th, at 11:00, with Reverend Guy Helms officiating.
