Daron Michael Shelp

Daron Michael Shelp passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on October 23, 2014, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, Mont. after a short illness.

Daron was born on October 12, 1966, in Pueblo, Colo. He was adopted by John and Wanda Shelp when he was 4 years old and joined sister Cheri. Later, adopted brothers Jack and Roger joined the family. Daron graduated from Worland High School in 1985. Daron shod horses for many years and then started his own glass shop. The last seven years of his life he worked for the Hanover Canal District. The canal became his third love after his wife and children. He spent hours riding ditch and making sure the water flowed.

The joy of his life was spending time with his children. He and his grandson Braxdon spent many hours riding tractors. He and Bridgett loved to go fishing. McKay spent hours riding the canal with Daron. Both he and Madison were talkers. Salem and he enjoyed their cordial disagreements. Sierra spent many hours going to work with Daron when he was doing glass work. Daron enjoyed some special times with Autumn and KieAnna. He and Wendy were married for five years, their time together was very special for both of them. Those that knew Daron will always remember his happy go lucky spirit and his degree in B.S.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Lynn and Ann Shelp, Lewis and Lucille Freudenthal, his father-in-law Rick Brazell, brother Roger Shelp and a grandson Brandon.

Daron is survived by his loving wife, Wendy, his parents, John and Wanda Shelp, daughters, Bridgett, Autumn, Sierra, Salem, KieAnna, Madison and McKay; grandchildren Braxdon and Kaluha; sister, Cheri Shelp (Wayne Reid); brother Jack Shelp; niece Alex Mulhall; mother-in-law Charlene Brazell and many aunts and uncles.
