Obituary
Elizabeth "Liz" Christy
February 7, 1937 – March 21, 2026
Elizabeth "Liz" Christy passed away peacefully at Spirit Mountain Hospice Center in Cody, Wyoming on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the age of 89. Liz was born on February 7, 1937 to Harold and Catherine Etchemendy Misomelius. She gained a little brother, Richard, the two grew up in Hyattville, Wyoming, graduating from Manderson-Hyattville High School in 1955. She went on to attend Billings Business College for one year. In 1957 she married Harold Artery and they had a daughter, Debbie. Harold passed away in 1959. In 1969 she married the love of her life, David Christy, and he brought Joy, Kelly, Mark and Tracy to this union. Liz and David were married for 43 years before his passing in 2012. Their endeavors together included a hay grinding business, a construction company, a mountain cabin, a gas station/car wash/restaurant, and supporting many activities of their grandchildren. David often referred to her as the grandchildren's ATM machine, which she readily admitted too. Liz and David enjoyed traveling, all the way from Alaska to Mexico, and their grandchildren were fortunate enough to enjoy going on a cruise with them. She was a huge George Strait groupie, seeing him in concert four times and actually meeting him coming off an elevator!
Liz worked at the Worland Style Shop for many years, and it was one of the many highlights of her life! She may have had a police escort home, on her bicycle, a couple of times after an extended happy hour with her very fun co-workers! She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim Trippel and belonged to the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for close to 50 years, where she made some of her most valuable and lasting friendships.
Along with daughter, Debbie Thompson and grandsons Troy and Ryan, Liz also leaves behind a plethora of wonderful friends and family that she so enjoyed spending time with, whether it was at aerobics class, or over coffee, lunch or a Bud Light. So many of you continued to support her after she entered Worland Healthcare in 2023. Thank you and you're all very much loved and appreciated!
Cremation will take place, with a private family burial. A Celebration of Life for Liz will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Worland Green Hills Restaurant, 1485 Airport Road, in Worland, Wyoming.
