Estella Salazar 87 year old, Casper resident died in Casper on May 27, 2001 after a lengthy illness.

Estella was born on October 27, 1913 in San Mateo, New Mexico to Moises & Sarah Mirabal. As a young woman, and attended school in San Mateo and later moved with her family to Grants, New Mexico. Estella was married to Samuel Salazar on April 1, 1940 in Thoreau, New Mexico. In 1946 they moved back to Grants, New Mexico where she raised her family and worked at various jobs. They moved to Monticello, Utah in 1962 and then to Worland in 1983. Mr. Salazar passed away in Worland and Estella continued to live here in Worland until moving to Casper to be near her family in 1995. Throughout her life she has loved crocheting, making dolls, camping, and playing bingo. She has also been an active member of the Catholic Church through out her life.

She is survived by two sons Richard Salazar of Hot Springs, SD, Frank Salazar of Casper, her daughter Sally & (Al) Martinez of Casper, two brothers, Felix & (Libby) Mirabal, and Max Mirabal both of Grants, New Mexico, grandchildren Victor Martinez of Casper, Dewayne Martinez of Casper, Karen, Ricky, Pam, Chris, Michelle, Rosa and Gilbert Salazar, and 17 great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, 3 children, 2 brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
