Eva Jospehine Decker

Jul 27, 1929 — Aug 17, 2026

Worland, Wyoming

Eva Josephine Manring Decker (named little bit by her Dad) was born July 27, 1929 in Grangeville, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Decker Sr, her parents, Vincil Manring, and Agnes (Barnhill) Manring; brother, Gene Manring; son-in-law, Dennis Quinlan and two grandchildren, Brian Quinlan and Gracie Decker.

Eva had seven children; Sandra Krehbiel, Vicki Quinlan, Audrey Charron, Bonnie Reitz-Blum, William Decker Jr, Shannon (Buddy) Cloud and Bruce (Katrina) Decker. She loved the company of her 53 grandchildren, including great and great-greats.

Eva came from a musical family and learned to play the accordion at a young age. She had a profound love of music her entire life and played multiple instruments. She also tutored many of her children. At Kellogg High School in Kellogg, Idaho, she played the drums and accordion in the band. During this time both she and her sister, Melva served as drummers for military funerals in Silver Valley, Idaho.

She married William E. Decker Sr. in 1952. They raised seven children in a busy thriving household. Eva dreamed of becoming a nurse, although life took her in another direction, she cared for people throughout her life, as a mother, a nurse’s aide and a grandmother. Her compassion and gentle ways inspired her daughter Bonnie, son, Bruce and granddaughter, Diana to become nurses. In her retirement, she was an avid crafter and finger crocheted blankets for her children and grandchildren to her last days.

Eva loved life, was fiercely independent, loved her family unconditionally, gathered children to her and had a big heart. She slipped into her next heavenly adventure, at 97 years young on August 17th, 2026 at 1:11 PM surrounded by her children and two grandchildren.
