Florence Evelyn Bader

August 18, 1928 - April 2, 2009

Florence Evelyn Bader, 80 year old Ten Sleep resident, passed away at the Central Wyoming Hospice Care Center in Casper on Thursday, April 2, 2009 with her family at her side.

Florence was born on August 18, 1928 in Basin, Wyoming, a daughter of Carl Irwin and Eugenia Muriel (Taylor) Snyder. She spent her early years in Basin until the family moved to Ten Sleep, Wyoming during Florence's freshman year. She graduated in 1946 from Ten Sleep High School.

She became acquainted with Ben Bader, just prior to his moving to Vancouver, WA to work as a welder in the shipyards during World War II. Together, with both sets of parents; they traveled to Red Lodge, Montana on July 27, 1946 to be joined in marriage. To this union was born seven children.

Florence and Ben made their home in Ten Sleep, where Florence worked at McPike Grocery Store. Florence and Ben enjoyed working and playing together. Florence was a life member of the United Methodist Women's group. Her life revolved around her family and church.

The family enjoyed family picnics on Sunday afternoons in the Big Horn Mountains, she enjoyed camping and fishing and helping get the family ready for hunting trips. For many years she cooked at the FFA Leadership Camp. She also was a sponsor on many school bus trips. She considered the students to be her good friends. She could often be found cooking for the school, or helping at the Election Boards, or babysitting for the children in town. Most recently she helped Ben at the cemetery and kept the books for the Ten Sleep Cemetery District. She will be remembered by her family for her patience, kind heart and devotion to her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ben on October 10, 2008, son Carl, sister, Francis Geis and sister-in-law Anella Snyder.

Florence is survived by sons: Lyle (Theresa) Bader of Worland, WY, Dale (Joyce) Bader of Thermopolis, WY; daughters: Rhonda (Mark) Ronning of Ten Sleep, WY, Pamela (Bob) Conley of Buffalo, WY, Kristy (Jon) Pavlus of Worland and Sandra Bader of Buffalo, WY; two brothers: Henry Snyder of Ten Sleep, WY, Robert (Sherri) Snyder of Buffalo; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Ten Sleep with Reverend Grover Briggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Ten Sleep Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Ten Sleep United Methodist Church or to the Central Wyoming Hospice in care of Bryant Funeral Home, PO Box 524, Worland, WY 82401.
