Obituary

Floyd A. Adams

March 7, 2008

Floyd A. Adams, 90 years old, Worland resident, died March 7, 2008 in Boise, Idaho with his children by his side.

Floyd Adams was born on May 19, 1917 in Brennen, South Dakota to Charles E. Adams and Vernie N. Munn. He attended school in Glenrock, Bucknum and Natrona WY and Rapid City, SD. In 1937, Floyd moved to Worland.

On December 6, 1939, he married Edna "Toni" Winn. Together they raised two children, Robert & Fawn. Toni died on November 28, 1975.

Floyd served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946, telling his grandsons he was on the crew of the "USS Never-Sailed".

He retired from Holly Sugar in 1978, after 30 years of service.

On August 14, 1981, Floyd and Merle A. McCann were married. For their first 14 years, friends and family only saw them as they repacked their bags for another adventure. They traveled to all 50 states, Mexico and the Caribbean, Merle tracking each trip on the map with different markers. Floyd loved to work in the yard and play cribbage, but most of all he loved to fish. He was a great fly fisherman, patiently teaching both Rob and Fawn his favorite casts. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #27 in Worland; past Patron of Signal Cliff #49 O.E.L. Ten Sleep, WY, and member of the American Legion.

For the past four years, Chris and the staff at Beehive Homes have provided a caring home environment for both of them. Merle passed away on February 17 of this year. Having not gone on an adventure separately for 26 years, Floyd wasn't going to let her get too far ahead of him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Toni and his wife, Merle; parents; baby daughter in 1954; brothers: Harold and Elmer; sisters: Iris, Gertrude and Floretta; daughters-in-law: Patricia Joy Adams and Connie McCann; and great grandson, Daniel Salstrom.

Floyd is survived by his children, Robert Adams, of Boise, ID, and Fawn (David) Polk, of Helena, MT; step children: Shirley (Marvin) Mead of Worland and James (Linda) McCann of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Sean Krei, Zachariah(Tricia) Krei, Elijah Polk, Jedidiah Polk, Matt Martinez, Renee (David) Martinez, Gary (Kathy) McCann, Cindy (Alan) Wade, Bret (Julie) McCann, Teri (Steve) Palmer, Ron (Colleen) Mead, Rick (Stephanie) Mead, Michael (Kristie) Mead; great grandchildren: Zander Krei, Hunter and Jake Martinez, Steve and Kevin McCann, Pat, Adam, Matthew and MacKenzie, Wade, Travis and Megan McCann, Kim Misculin, Levi and Reanna Mead, Nichole and Spencer Mead, Jessica , Eli , & K.D. Mead; great great grandchildren: Madison, Aidynn, Madison and Kalon.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Andrea Hinderaker officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
