Garret Immesoete

Garret Immesoete passed away on February 6, 2024 from pulmonary amyloidosis at St Vincent Hospital in Billings, Montana, surrounded by his family. Garret was thrust upon the world on November 16, 1945 in Lusk Wyoming. He was born to William and Hellen (Renz) Immesoete of Van Tassel Wyoming. He was the middle child of three kids, an older sister Janet and a younger sister Cheryl. Garret grew up on the family ranch raising chickens, cattle, sheep, and growing potatoes and grass hay. He attended Prairie Center School from first through eighth grade, and then attended Niobrara County High School in Lusk Wyoming. After graduating from high school in 1964, Garret joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Little Rock in the Mediterranean Sea. After completing his time in the Navy, Garret returned to Wyoming and attended Casper College where he graduated with a major in Business. While in college he met his future wife, Catherine Feraud.

Garret and Catherine were married on September 23, 1972, at St Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Worland, Wyoming. Garret and Catherine chose to stay in Casper, Wyoming where they started their family. They raised four boys: Travis, Shane, Brandon, and Evan. Garret worked with multiple companies including Terra Resources and Amoco Oil Company. Garret and Catherine stayed in Casper until 1992 when Amoco Oil transferred the family to Texas City, Texas.

Garret retired from Amoco (later acquired by British Petroleum) in 2006. He and Catherine chose to live in Worland, Wyoming near Catherine's extended family. Garret did not take retirement lightly. He was continuously active working in his yard, tinkering in his garage and a connoisseur of the most interesting auctions where he loved to brag about his new finds and purchases. He served two terms on the Worland Board of Planning and Adjustment. He also assisted his nephew, Brian, by trouble shooting and operating the movie projectors at the Washakie Twin Cinemas.

He was preceded in death by his father William Immesoete and his mother Helen (Renz) Immesoete. He is survived by his wife, Catherine, two sisters, Janet Bell and Cheryl (David) King; four sons: Travis (Lynn), Shane (Anna), Brandon (Trang), Evan, and two grandchildren, Colin and Sydney as well as several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be held Friday, June 7, 2024 at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Bo Bowman of Bethany Fellowship Church officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the US Navy and American Legion Post #44.
