Geneva Thompson Gilmore

June 3, 1933 – January 19, 2026

Geneva Thompson Gilmore, 92, went home to her Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 19, 2026.

Geneva was born June 3, 1933, the third of five children born to Calvin Thompson and Lunita Lowe Thompson. She married the love and rock of her life, Ivan Leroy Gilmore, on November 1, 1957 in Lovell Wyoming. They later sealed their marriage on June 25, 1971 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Prior to making Worland, Wyoming her permanent home, Geneva lived in Cody, Byron, Lovell, and Sheridan, Wyoming.

Geneva was an avid reader and enjoyed doing word search puzzles. She especially took great joy in just talking to people. She had an incredible work ethic all her life and worked hard until she was nearly 90 years old. Her last job, which she thoroughly enjoyed, was as a foster grandparent for the Worland school district, where she was loved, respected and admired by children and adults alike.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ivan Leroy Gilmore; grandchildren: Ben Gilmore, Bodie Gene Moody, and Nathan Ivan Wille; siblings: Wanda Hammond, Calvin Thompson and Ruth Tippetts.

Survivors include her four children: Ted Gilmore, Wayne Gilmore, Paula Dover, and Billie Wille; twenty-three grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Lorna Asay, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, January 30, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center,500 Sagebrush Drive, Worland, Wyoming.
