H. Stanley Allred

February 27, 1934 - July 27, 2001

H. Stanley Allred 67, died in a single vehicle rollover on July 27, 2001 near Wheatland, Wyoming.

Stan was born on February 27, 1934 in Ten Sleep to Golden M. and Clara (Stanley) Allred. He grew up on the family ranch and graduated form Ten Sleep High School in 1952 as valedictorian.

He then attended college in Fort Collins, Colorado for one year in pre veterinary science, and then transferred to Eastern Montana College where he served as student body president and played on the Basketball team for two years, he graduated in 1957 and received his Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education.

He was married to Carol Bunnell in August of 1952, to this union were born 4 children. They were later divorced. Stan taught school for three years in Lockwood, Montana then moved to Utah where he received his Masters in Science Education from the University of Utah. He then moved to San Bernardino where he taught for the next 32 years.

He was married to Dawn Olsen on June 27, 1980 in San Bernardino, CA and were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on November 11, 1994. Stan spent countless hours coaching boys & girls basketball, football and little league. They tired from teaching and returned to Ten Sleep in 1991 and in May of this year he was inducted into the Coaches Hall of Fame at the San Gorgonio, High School. He loved raising paint horses, fishing and entertaining family and friends at his home.

He is survived by his wife Dawn of Ten Sleep, mother Clara of Ten Sleep, daughters Terri (Lloyd) Craft of Worland, Jennifer Bartels of Rifle, CO, sons Jeffrey Allred of Worland, Jay Allred of Powell, two brothers, Willard Allred of Ten Sleep, Lonnie Allred of Riverton, sister Myrona Apland of Thermopolis and 10 grandchildren. His father and one grandson preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at 10:30 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ten Sleep, Burial will follow at the Ten Sleep Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Ten Sleep Library in care of the Bryant Funeral Home PO Box 524 Worland, WY 82401.
