Obituary
Isabel "Liz" Garcia
August 5, 1947- May 22, 2026
Isabel "Liz" Garcia, 78, passed away on May 22, 2026 at Washakie Medical Center in Worland, Wyoming, just 3 weeks after the love of her life, Rene Garcia passed. A love that was meant for all of eternity, they are now reunited in Heaven.
She was born on August 5, 1947, in Mission, Texas, to Inez and Cesario Garcia. As a young girl, Isabel's family moved to San Jose, California, where she helped her mother raise her younger siblings as the oldest child in the family. She learned early the meaning of hard work, compassion, and caring for others. These were qualities that would define the rest of her life.
While living in California, Liz met the love of her life, Rene Garcia Sr. The two later married in church on April 29, 1969, beginning a lifelong partnership. Together they raised their children, Rene Jr. and Linda. Wanting a better life for their family, they eventually made the move across the country to Worland, Wyoming in the early 1980s.
In Worland, Liz worked cleaning houses and taking on various odd jobs to help support her family. No matter how busy life became, her greatest joy was always caring for those she loved. She especially loved being outdoors, planting flowers, tending to her birds, cleaning their cages, and giving them baths. She also enjoyed traveling to California to visit family and spending precious time with her husband.
Liz was a woman whose life revolved around faith, kindness, and family. She was the kind of mother and grandmother who would do absolutely anything for the people she loved. Her gentle heart and caring nature will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
In early 2022, she was diagnosed with dementia, a journey she faced with the same quiet strength and grace that she carried throughout her life. Although the end of her life was faced with unimaginable trials, her love for her husband and family never faded.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Inez and Cesario Garcia; her beloved husband, Rene Garcia Sr.; son, Rene Garcia Jr.; brother, Cesario Jr and sisters, Rosa, Julie and Shirley.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Larry) Guy of Visalia, California; grandchildren, Haley Guy, Emrie Jolley, Jasmine (Lucas Kraushaar) Garcia and Kira Garcia,; one great-grandchild, Kainin and her siblings, Jake (Diane) Garcia of Worland, Joe (Diane) Garcia Ruby Lomas and Gloria Lomas, all of California, along with many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday May 26, 2026 at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Father Robert Rodgers officiating. A graveside will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
