James Clarence Beck
August 26, 1964 – October 21, 2020
James C. "Jim" Beck, 56, passed away suddenly from a medical event on October 21, 2020.Jim was born on August 26, 1964 in Havre, Montana to Clarence and Sandra (Ewing) Beck. He was raised most of his life in Worland, graduating from WHS in 1983. Upon graduating he entered the United States Army and served 4 years active duty followed by 2 years in the National Guard. He was married to his wife, Sandy Atkinson on July 11, 1992. The couple was married for 28 years. To this union 2 sons were born, Jonathan and Jayson. He cherished his time with his boys and loved getting to know his two grandsons, Dawson and William. Jim had many interests including spending much of his time at the family cabin as well as snowmobiling, riding ATV's and fixing equipment. He was a long-time member of the Elks, American Legion Post #44 and the Ten Sleep/Hyattville Lions Club. He never met an enemy. He was always up for a good time, always ready to lend an ear, a smile or a helping hand. Over the years he worked various jobs including for Big Horn CO-OP, Schlumberger, and most recently, Wyoming Sugar Company. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra; paternal grandparents, Cora and Albert Beck; maternal grandfather, Charles and father-in-law, John "Pinky" Atkinson. Jim is survived by his father, Clarence; wife, Sandy; sons, John (Carsen) and Jayson; grandsons, Dawson and William; sisters, Penni Beck, Lori Paulsen (Dave) and Paula (Larry) Beck; grandmother, Frances; mother-in-law, Dorene Atkinson; sisters-in-law, Trish and Jennie Atkinson as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020 at the former One Oak Activity Center 1115 Obie Sue Ave. A private burial will be held at a later date on the mountain. Memorial donations may be made to the Ten Sleep/Hyattville Lions Club and sent to PO Box 524, Worland, WY 82401.
