James Vincent Shelton

James Vincent Shelton, 52 year old Worland resident passed away on September 3, 2012 at his home.

Jim was born on February 14, 1960 in Bartlesville, OK to Sandra Shelton and Edward Kane. He lived in Salem, IL until 1972 where he then moved to Lolo, MT to live with this Aunt Joanne and Uncle Bob Shelton. In 1980 he married Heidi Norgaard. They were later divorced.

In 1985 he moved to Worland and on May 30, 1987 he and Teresa Redland were married. While he lived in Lolo and in the Missoula area he worked for numerous car dealerships.

In 1985 he began working for Salt Creek Freightways in Worland and later went to work for Sweetheart Bread. He left Sweetheart Bread in 2004 to follow his passion of automobiles by starting up the family business of Shelton Motors, Wash Depot and Latte Da with his wife Teresa. Jim had a passion for cars which he has passed on to his children. His greatest enjoyment from this was that his customers loved their car as much as he did. He enjoyed coaching his youngest son Russell, in sports; he followed both of his boy’s sports careers. Jim enjoyed taking his children and friends camping, fishing. They spent many weekends at the lake. Jim was a man that loved life and looked at it through a child’s eyes. There was no greater love in his life than his family, especially his wife Teresa and their children. He enjoyed going for walks along the canal road with his beloved wife Teresa. He made every holiday special. He loved every holiday, especially the 4th of July with Irene, Christmas tree hunting and hiding Easter eggs. He developed a passion of golf which he enjoyed sharing with his boys and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents James and Wilma Shelton and mother-in-law, Irene Redland.

Jim is survived by his wife Teresa, children: Elizabeth Hetland, Robert James Shelton, Russell Dale Shelton; and his special daughter Courtney (Bill) Griffin of Belfry, MT; his mother Sandra Shelton of Redding, CA,; father Ed Kane of IL, ; sister Maria Bayless, of Redding, CA,; brother, John Pat Kaczynski, sisters-in-law Roalene (Jack) McCarthy, of Omaha, NE, Lisa & Mike Kimsey, of Manderson, WY, brothers-in-law Rolly (Deb) of Ten Sleep, WY and Kendrick (Sharon) Redland, of Worland and father-in-law, Robert Redland of Manderson, WY; nieces: Micheala, Jessica, Anna McCarthy, Chloe Bayless; nephews: Ben (Abby) Adam, Spencer Redland, Bob, Neal and Steven McCarthy, Grant and Jack Kimsey, Jim Bayless and his two special granddaughters Hannah and MacKenzie Griffin.
