Jeffery Wayne Saunders, 49 year old Worland resident, died at Washakie Medical Center on May 6, 2012.
Jeff was born in Logan, Utah Dec. 2 1962 a son of Jack Hansen and Christene(Smith )Saunders. As a baby Jeff had 16 holes in his heart that had to be repaired this didn’t stop him from being very active. During high school he was a star football player for Ten Sleep (#30), He also played basketball and ran track and was homecoming King for two years. He graduated from Ten Sleep High School in 1981.
He was married to Jennifer Smith in 1986 in Worland, To this union was born Lindsey & Jack Saunders, They were divorced in 1990. Jeff worked for Crown Cork and Seal from 1987 to the present; he was most recently a foreman.
Jeff enjoyed playing men’s softball. He could be found at the fields during the summer either playing or watching his children play softball or baseball. He was on the men’s traveling softball league, playing throughout the North West. He was voted the most valuable player for many years. During the summers the family enjoyed going to the Big Horn Mountains and cutting wood..
He is preceded in death by his father Jack Saunders, grandparents; Kary and Gilbert Saunders, Joyce and Wayne Smith.
He is survived by his three children; Lindsey Saunders, Jack Saunders & Jillian Dean, his mother; Christene Kulze, two sisters; Jodi Edmunds and Jeni McCreary, brother; Jason Saunders and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
