Jennie Mae Sprague Sessions, 92 year old, Worland resident, died April 11, 2006 at the Worland Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center.
Jennie was born on February 15, 1914 in Gunnison, Utah a daughter of Alfred Wakefield and Lois Ann (Fjelsted) Beck. She received her education in Otto, Wyoming. Jennie was married to Vernon Sprague on July 18, 1929 in Basin, WY. They lived in Otto where Mr. Sprague farmed for one year. They moved to Gunnison, UT where they lived until 1946 returning to the Big Horn Basin. Jennie ran the Holly Sugar Factory club house for a few years. They raised their family in Worland where Jennie was active in her church callings. She also worked for many years at the Ben Franklin store. Jennie & Vernon moved to West Pittsburg, California where she worked in a school cafeteria for several years. They were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple of the LDS Church. Upon retirement in 1979 they moved to Missoula, Montana and then she moved to Worland in 1985 after Vernon death in May of that year. Jennie was married to Merlin Sessions in August of 1986 and they made their home in Gillette until June of 1988 when Mr. Sessions died. She then came back to Worland where she has lived until the time of her death.
Jennie loved to sew, cook and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many church callings.
She is survived by one son Gary (Alverna) Sprague of Discovery Bay, CA., two daughters Karen (Dick) Jones of Phoenix, AZ, Jackie (Don) Dwyer of Spokane, WA., daughter in law Valanca Sprague King of Mr. Vernon, TX., one sister Lois Annie Childs of Orem, UT., 22 grandchildren 50 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Vernon Sprague, and Merlin Sessions, daughter Verna Jean Busch, son John Irving Sprague, brother’s Johnny Beck, Jesse Beck and sisters Alice Hopkin Christiansen and Evelyn Sessions, grandsons Derek Dwyer and Keith Sprague.
