Juanita June Ramsey

June 9, 1931 – May 23, 2026

Our wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend Nita Ramsey died on May 23, 2026, at Thermopolis Rehab and Wellness. She lived a long life of 94 years.

Nita was born in Thermopolis on June 9, 1931, at the hospital on the hill to Charles Morgan Dockery and Lillie Egglentine (Hensen) Dockery. She and her 11 siblings grew up on Owl Creek, where she met her lifetime husband, Bryan (Punk) Ramsey. They were married October 12, 1946, until his death in 2012. Out of this marriage were 4 children: Alton, Mike, Rusty, and Brandon.

Nita was loved by all who knew her. Since she had so many siblings, many of her nieces and nephews would drop in and keep in touch with her as if she were their second mother. She enjoyed the company and was a great hostess and cook.

She loved God and the church and did not like missing church! She played and hosted Tripoli and Pinochle games frequently, and she was always up for a game of Garbage or Cribbage. She and Punk bowled as long as Thermopolis had a bowling alley, and she was a member of the bowling league. Many will remember her as their Avon lady, which she did for over 30 years and won many awards. Nita also volunteered at the Pioneer Home as the bingo lady and assisted for many years at the voting polls.

Nita is survived by 3 sons: Alton, Mike (Glenda), and Brandon (Debra), all of Thermopolis; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Rusty, and all of her siblings.

Services will be held at Nita and Punk's church, Risen Son Baptist Church, in Thermopolis on June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
