Julie Marie Roden 17, died at her home in Ten Sleep, Wyoming on December 5, 2000 due to complications of an asthma attack.

She was born on April 29, 1983 to Leon & Cheryl (Simons) Roden in Mankato, Minnesota. The family moved to Ten Sleep, Wyoming in 1992 when Julie was in the third grade.

She was an active member with the Ten Sleep Student Counsel where she was serving as Vice President. She was inducted into the Art Honor Society her sophomore year. She has received a National Choir award, has been active in music, band, and the Matinee. Smiling and joking, everyone knew where she was. She was the Class President during her sophomore year, member of the Wyoming Association of Student Counsels. She had achieved the honor role each semester during high school. She enjoyed friends and family and communicating with friends around the world via the Internet. She has a deep belief in family traditions, great love for the disabled Veterans and their commitment to our country. Her immediate goal was to attend the WWII Memorial Dedication in Washington D.C. She was an avid fan of Conan O’Brien and SNL.

She is survived by her parents Leon & Cheryl, sister Angela, brother Matthew. Paternal grandmother Ora M. Roden of Mankato, MN, Aunts & Uncles, Marilyn (Bill) North of Edmond, Oklahoma, Audrey Roden of Mankato, Sylvia Disney of Irving, TX , David Roden of Parker Colorado, Donald Roden of Billings, MT, Francis (Cyndy) Simons of Sarasota, Florida, John & (Allyson) Simons of Virginia, Joann (Arnie) Lake City, Iowa Rosemary (Robert) Haberman of Brewster, MN, Rita (Ted) Broberg of Seattle, WA, Rebecca Vorsten of Layton, Iowa and 25 cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Gilbert Roden, maternal grandparents Dola and John Peter Simons, Naomi Rodert and Arlo Simons.
