Käthe K. Campbell Rollins, 75 year old Worland resident, passed away unexpectedly in Billings, Montana on November 28, 2009.

Käthe was born on October 2, 1934 in Mannheim, Germany to Franz and Elisabeth (Burkhardt) Gregan. She was the oldest of seven children. She received her education in Germany and also married Vernon Campbell on May 4, 1954. She came to the United States after the war. She and Vernon lived on various Army bases, including bases in Texas, California, Montana and returned to Germany for two separate tours from 1961-1965 and again from 1969-1971. After Vernon’s retirement, they returned to Deer Lodge, Montana. Vernon passed away on January 8, 1981.

She worked very hard to learn the English language. She learned to speak English from watching American television. She proudly received her citizenship in 1967.

Käthe was remarried to Donald Dean Rollins on October 8, 1981 in Billings, Montana. He passed away on March 29, 2009.

She was an avid Bingo Player and had a special love for music, especially Elvis Presley. She also loved to cook. Friends and family loved her fudge, cookies and cakes. All the children around were introduced to authentic German foods. In her later years she enjoyed watching Alex and Steven in the Demolition Derbies and spending time with her grandchildren. Having a kind heart, she could often be found caring for the elderly and homebound people. She was involved in the Fun Band at the Worland Senior Citizens and a member of the Eagles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Vernon and Don; daughter, Carmen, brother, Franz; and sister Annemarie;

Käthe is survived by her sons: James (Phadera) Campbell of Worland, Pat (Tawni) Campbell of Deer Lodge, MT, Alex (Heather) Campbell and Steve (Ashley) Rollins all of Worland; daughters: Lisa (Bob) Rollins of Deer Lodge, MT and Molly (Tony) Hixon of Phoenix, AZ; brothers: Heinz and George Gregan of Mannheim, Germany; sisters: Edeltrout Gregan of Mannheim, Germany and Melitta Delgato of Orlando, FL; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
