Obituary
Larry D Morris
January 18, 1941- October 16, 2021
Larry D. Morris, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Worland, Wyoming on October 16, 2021.
Larry was born in Malad City, Idaho to Delmar Ralph and Greeta "Mae" (Cottam) Morris on January 18, 1941.
He graduated from Malad Senior High School and shortly after, following in his father's footsteps, joined the United States Navy. Larry was proud of his country and worked hard to keep us all free by serving in the Vietnam War.
After moving to Gillette, Wyoming to work on oil rigs, he married the love of his life, Eva "Chris" Marie Wing on October 28, 1970. He was the final piece in Chris's puzzle, becoming a father to her three children, Lee, Marlys and Tammy. A few years later, they moved to Sheridan, Wyoming so Larry could start an auto mechanic business with his wife. Because of a recession, they were forced to pack up their belongings and move to Las Vegas, Nevada where Larry worked for Pep Boys as a mechanic.
In 2003, Larry was ready to retire and moved to Worland with his wife by his side. He enjoyed teaching pool at the Teen Center and was often seen at the Senior Center. He was affectionately known there as "Las Vegas Larry" or "Larry the Legend".
He really enjoyed time in the mountains fishing with Chris and missed her terribly with her passing in 2011. Larry's passion was playing pool and he won many awards and trophies doing so. If anyone was up for a match, he was ready, willing and able!
Larry enjoyed his partying days with a drink in one hand, a pool stick in the other and a cigarette on his lips. He was always happy and laughing. You could always find him with his aviator sunglasses and a smile on his face. One of his favorite past-times was sitting on the porch, sipping a hot cup of coffee early in the morning.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer Morris and Greeta Morris-VanLeeuwen; stepfather, Henry VanLeeuwen; wife, Chris Morris; brother, Ralph Morris; children, Lee Braunstein and Marlys Nelson; many uncles, aunts and cousins.
He is survived by his daughter, Tamera (Donald) Curtis of Gillette, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous cousins.
Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the American Legion Post #44 in Worland. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post #44. Online condolences may be made at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
