Lester Daugherty

Lester “Les” Daugherty of Ten Sleep, Wyoming was born December 28,1955 and passed away peacefully at home on July 26, 2026, with his beloved wife, Dana, by his side until his final breath. Les was born to Israel "Bub" Daugherty and Carol English. He was named in honor of a relative, Lester Daugherty, who was killed at the age of 20 while serving in the military in the Philippines and who was awarded the Purple Heart for his sacrifice. A proud graduate of Ten Sleep High School's Class of 1974, Les earned his electrician's license shortly after graduation. He worked for a time at MI Drilling before dedicating himself to helping countless friends and neighbors throughout the Ten Sleep community with their electrical needs. He also spent many years working at and enjoying Meadowlark Ski Lodge, where he formed lasting friendships and created many cherished memories. He also gave many years as a proud volunteer of the Ten Sleep Rodeo earning him a permanent spectator spot. On August 13, 2018, Les married the love of his life, Dana Daugherty. Their marriage was filled with love, companionship, and unwavering devotion. Dana remained faithfully by his side and was with him until his peaceful passing. Les was a man known for his generous heart, steady hands, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether fixing an electrical problem, sharing a laugh with friends, or spending time in the community he loved, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be remembered as an amazing friend to so many in Ten Sleep and as a devoted, loving husband.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Israel "Bub" Daugherty and Carol Daugherty and stepdaughter Magdalena.

Les is survived by his wife, Dana Daugherty; brother, Dan (Monica) Daugherty; half-sister, Marilyn (Austin) Gibbons; step-daughter, Monica (Levi); niece, Lindsay; nephew, Kevin; and the many friends who became family throughout the Ten Sleep community. Les's kindness, friendship, and quiet generosity touched countless lives. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
