Linda Kay Steinmetz, 56 year old, Worland resident, died at the Washakie Medical Center on November 23, 2009 following her battle with cancer.

Linda was born on November 3, 1953 in Forsyth, Montana a daughter of Edmund M. & Cecile L. (Blackman) Hoenke. Linda grew up in Frenchtown, Montana and attended school in Frenchtown and then graduated from High School in Forsyth in 1976.

During her early years she enjoyed swimming in the Frenchtown pond, horseback riding with the neighbor friends and attending youth group and youth camp at Camp Utmost.

Linda most important part of life was raising her family and praying she was doing it right.

She has worked at Rosebud County Health Department & Sheriff’s Office in Forsyth before relocating to Worland to work for R.T. Communications.

She is a member of the Gorgeous Gals Club in Worland. Linda enjoyed scrapbooking, reading, caring for children, cross stitching, cooking for family and grandkids and catering for nieces wedding from Spokane, WA to Hardin, MT. Her faith was strong and hoped to pass that to her family. Linda loved helping her friends and family whenever possible.

She is survived by her husband; Ron of Worland, children; Danielle (Travis) Filler, Michael (Cindi) Steinmetz all of Worland, mother; Cecile Hoenke of Frenchtown, MT, sisters; Pat (Jerry) Williams of Billings, MT, Kathy (Jerry) Metcalf of Hardin, MT, Karen (Dan) Jacobs of Missoula, MT, brother; Leonard (Laura) Hoenke of Forsyth, MT. Ron & Linda extended their family in 1999 by adding Melissa McCoid and her children. Dalen & Ryan Brazelton filled the spot as grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father Edmund Hoenke, brother: Danny, a special nephew Mark Williams, niece Cindy Steinmetz, grandparents Arthur & Rose Keschel Hoenke and Ruel & Julia Delano Blackman and her father and mother in law Henry & Helen Steinmetz.
