Lisa Renee Monroney

April 16, 1963 – August 12, 2024

Lisa Renee Monroney, born April 16, 1963, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2024 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, Montana. She was the beloved daughter of Dorothy Ellen (Lipps) Lofing and Robert Lee Lofing.

Lisa was born and raised in Worland, Wyoming. She graduated from Worland High School in 1982 and went on to achieve a Master's Degree in Sociology from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). Her profound commitment to social justice was evident in her role as Director of the Rocky Mountain Resource Center (RMRC), an organization dedicated to helping individuals escape the grips of cults, gangs, and hate groups. Her passion for education also led her to instruct Sociology at Front Range Community College, Aims Community College, and UNC, where she inspired countless students with her dedication and insight.

Lisa married Steve Monroney on June 11, 1988 in Englewood, Colorado. Following the wedding, they spent 10 days on a honeymoon in the Tetons of Wyoming. From this union, they welcomed two children, Elisha and Isaiah. Although Lisa and Steve later divorced, she remained a loving and devoted mother. Lisa's joy in life was evident in the simple pleasures she cherished. She found immense delight in listening to her grandson Jayden's stories, and her hobbies included cooking, crocheting, reading, and enjoying sci-fi movies and TV shows. She also treasured the time spent crafting with friends, a testament to her creative spirit and love for community.

Lisa's warmth, dedication, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of compassion and her unwavering commitment to helping others will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of crossing her path.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Elisha (AJ) Meyer; son, Isaiah Monroney; brothers, Robert "Bobby" (Rhonda) Lofing, Mike (Carole) Lofing; sisters, Christi (Sam) McClure, and Karen (Tim) Surat; her cherished grandson, Jayden Meyer; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
