Obituary
Maria Trinidad Olvera
June 28, 1958 – October 16, 2023
Maria Trinidad Olvera, 65, passed away in her home on October 16, 2023, with her loving family beside her. Maria was born on June 28, 1958, in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Trinidad Hernández and Pelagio González. Her godmother, "Mama Luz" (Eutiquia Elizea de Garza Cardona) raised her from her infancy until she was six or seven years old. At this time the family moved across the border to Laredo, Texas. Maria traveled with her family as migrant workers. She attended school when possible, but gained most of her education learning from those around her.
Her family was working in Worland, Wyoming when she met Victor Olvera, Sr. The couple was married on August 30, 1975 on the Scheuerman Ranch.
Maria may have been small, but she was feisty and did not like to lose…at anything! When she set her mind to something, she fought hard to get it done. She loved cooking. Tamales and tortillas were favorites of family and those fortunate enough to buy them fresh. Gardening was another passion. She even planted six fruit trees in her front yard while Victor was away at work. Maria made it a point to travel to her childhood home as often as possible. If family wanted to come along that was great, if not, she was going anyway! Her spunky attitude will be missed by those she left behind. ¡Vaya con Díos!
She was preceded in death by her parents, godmother, Eutiquia Elizea de Garza Cardona, brothers: Jose Erasmo, Andres, David, and Hector González; sisters, Graciela González and Victoria Rios and grandson, Mikey Olvera.
Survivors include her husband, Victor Olvera, Sr.; sons: Victor, Jr. (Rosa) Olvera of Worland, Erasmo Gonzalez, Jr. of Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico; daughters: Elvira Pineda and Erica (Juan Manuel) Campos all of Worland; grandchildren: Wilfredo (Ben Brinkerhoff) Pineda, Angel T. Olvera, Ezequiel C. Olvera, YaZaida Y Olvera; Oscar Diaz, Blanca Campos, Manual Campos, Eduardo Campos; Victor D. Olvera, Carmin Olvera, Alondra Garcia, Kasandra Garcia and Krystal Ruby; great-granddaughter, Mila Grace Diaz and soon-to-arrive, great-grandson, Sergio Manuel Campos; sisters: Guadalupe Gonzalez, Magdalena Gallegos, Martha Garcia and Maria (Ignacia) Martinez.

Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Prayer Vigil and visitation will be held 7:00 PM, Friday October 20, 2023 at the church.
