Mario Ruiz

Mario Ruiz, 27-year-old Worland resident, passed away in Salt Lake City December 8, 2001, during a liver transplant surgery.

Mario was born in Andocutin, Guanaguato, Mexico to Rogelio and Guadalupe (Ibarra) Ruiz on February 17, 1974. He spent his early childhood in Mexico City. His father had moved to Portsville, CA and at age 16, Mario went to California to be with his father. He attended school through the 9th grade in California and attended 10th and 11th grade in Worland where he had relocated.

As a youth, Mario loved to spend time with his friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing, playing soccer, listening to Mexican music, going to dances and “cruising main”.

On September 3, 1998 he married Estrellita (Star) Garcia. To this union was born a little boy, Mario Sebastian Ruiz. Mario loved to spend time with his little son. The family made their home in Worland where Mario worked for Worland Tree and Lawn Care Service and most recently worked for Vega Brothers Repair.

He had been waiting for a donor for a liver transplant for over a year.

Mario is survived by his wife, Estrellita, of Worland, one son, Mario Sebastian, his father Rojelio of Portsville, Ca, his mother, Guadalupe, of Torrion, Cuahuila, Mexico, 2 brothers, Victor (Anna) Ruiz of Worland, and Miguelangel Ruiz of Las Vegas, NV, 1 sister, Elva Ruby (Miguel) Pineda of Las Vegas, 3 nephews and 1 niece.
