Mary Eloise Eberle, 91, passed away at the Washakie Medical Center on November 2, 2018. Eloise was born on October 28, 1927 in Northboro, Iowa, the third of four children to join Thomas Irvan and Madge Marie (Draper) Murphy. She was raised on a farm in Southwestern Iowa, near Coin. She was active in school with band, choir and cheerleading.  She was the Valedictorian of the Coin High School Class of 1945. Following High School, she attended business school in Chicago. She returned home and received training to be a telegraph operator.  She also worked as a depot agent for the CB & Q Railroad. On August 27, 1947, she married Walter Leroy Eberle. The family moved to the Black Hills area where she served as a leader for both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She moved to Worland around 1980, working for Earl and Cathryn Ferguson at Sunshine Office Supply and later for Ron Sopko until she retired. Eloise was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church and served in many capacities.  In Worland, she served with the United Methodist Women, Helen's Fellowship, Quest Group, Membership and Nurture, Jenny's Store and the Handbell Choir. Eloise loved to watch football, both college and professional. Her favorite teams were the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Green Bay Packers. She even became an avid NASCAR fan. She was a wonderful lady who enjoyed serving others. She loved getting together with family and her favorite nickname was "Nana". She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter in 2012, brothers, Glen Elden and Gerald Thomas "Bud" Murphy. Survivors include her son, Robert Eberle of Worland; daughters, Kathy Eberle of Wichita, Kansas and Wendy Owens of Gillette, WY; youngest brother, Daryl (Frances) Murphy; grandchildren, Whitley Eberle and William Owens, and great-grandchildren, Ayden and Journey. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Worland with Pastor Steven Brown officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Worland Ministerial Association c/o Bryant Funeral Home, PO Box 524, Worland, WY 82401. Bryant Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
