Matthew (Primo) Robert Salazar, 41 year old Billings, Montana resident died at St Vincent Hospital on October 2, 2012.
Matt was born in Worland on May 29, 1971 a son of Rita Salazar. He received his education in Worland graduating from Worland High School in 1989.
Matt was an avid sportsman, during high school he excelled in wrestling and became a state champion his senior year. He also enjoyed boxing holding several state and regional championships and received the title of silver glove champion. He also enjoyed playing softball, baseball and golfing.
Matt also loved his job as an equipment operator for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He loved his family and lived for his daughter. Matt loved his Mexican music and coming home for some good home cooking. He also adored his nephews and niece, brother and sister-in- laws. Matt’s only regret is that he couldn’t spend more time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his mother Rita Gonzalez on May 26, 2003 and Grandfather Lupe Hernandez May 1977.
He is survived by his wife Kandy of Billings, daughter Reyna Salazar of Billings, brother Mike”Sarah” Gonzalez of Laramie, WY, grandmother Margaret Hernandez of Worland, Aunts & Uncles Ernie “Jenny” Hernandez of Worland, Fred Hernandez of Worland, Sandra Graham of Phoenix, Arizona, Natalie “Gary” Pippet of Casper, Greg “Mary” Hernandez of Casper, Leonard “Bobbi” of Spanish Fork, UT, Kenny “Michelle” Hernandez of Worland and Larry Salazar, one niece and two nephew and numerous cousins.
