Mildred Ann Rayburn, 89 year old longtime Worland resident, passed away on September 1, 2014 at her home in Worland, surrounded by her family.

Millie was born on November 2, 1924 in Basin, Wyoming, a daughter of Al and Ella (Campbell) Mills. She grew up and received her education in the Gould District, west of Basin. She moved to Worland where she worked at the Worland Laundry for the next several years. She was married to Loyd Rayburn in May of 1949 in Worland where they made their home. She later worked for many years for the Cream of the Valley Diner on Big Horn Avenue.

Millie’s home was always open to children, neighbors and friends. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making candy, especially peanut brittle, and homemade Ice cream. Other hobbies included sewing, crocheting, working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved canning the produce she grew in her garden and baking for her family and friends. She was a longtime member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Worland

She loved camping in the Big Horn Mountains and after Loyd passed away she enjoyed the privilege of traveling with her grandson Kenneth.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd; 4 sisters and 4 brothers.

Survivors include her sons, Vernon (Nancy) Rayburn and John Rayburn, all of Worland and one grandson, Kenneth Rayburn of Twenty-nine Palms, Calif.
