Nettie Jean (Woods) Egbert
December 21, 1941 – December 20, 2019
Nettie Jean (Woods) Egbert, 77 of Worland, passed away at Billings Clinic Hospital on December 20, 2019.
Nettie was born December 21, 1941 in Lewistown, Montana, the oldest of twelve children born to Henry A. and F. Cecile (Fairbairn) Woods.
As a young child, Nettie moved with her family to Arkansas where they lived for many years before returning to Lewistown. In early 1960, Nettie met Larry Egbert, the love of her life. They were married September 2, 1960. To this union four children were born, Barbara, Sandra, Phillip and Janet. Each of the children were born in a different state as Nettie followed Larry around the country for his work. She greatly enjoyed being able to stay home and raise her children. She was a loving, caring mother who was confidential source of advice. Her daughters each felt of her concern for their welfare and their families.
In 1970, the family moved to Ten Sleep, where they would live for the next 23 years. While there, Nettie babysat and also managed the Flagstaff Motel. In 1979, she received her GED. In 1993, Larry and Nettie moved to Worland to be closer to their grandchildren. She loved being near her grandchildren, watching them in their activities. She enjoyed watching them bowl. She made many beautiful creations with Amber. They sewed purses and baby "tool" bags (not diaper bags), she also crocheted Christmas ornaments. In her later years, she looked forward to her pampering sessions as Amber would do her nails.
Nettie enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cross stitch, playing Bingo, going for coffee with friends. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary for 26 years where she loved helping with dinners and special events.
No matter how much pain she was in, Nettie always greeted everyone with a smile. She extended genuine concern for others and relished the opportunity to visit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry, her son Phillip, son-in-law Daniel Uttech, her parents and one brother.
Nettie is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hughes of South Riding, VA, Sandra (Scott) Richard and Janet Uttech of Worland, her grandchildren Amber (Jereme) Carne and Zachary Richard (Leeausha Fronk) of Worland, and her great grandson, Avden Carne.
