Oren L. Wilcox, 63 year old, Wyoming native died at Washakie Memorial Hospital on May 13th . He was born on March 27, 1936 to Albert & Lazetta Wilcox in Greybull. As a young boy he lived in the Oil Field on the Oregon Basin. The family moved back to Greybull where he graduated from high school in 1954.
He then entered the Navy in 1954 helping to install the Defensive Early Warning System in the Arctic. Oren married Barbara Mason in 1955, they later divorced. He moved to Alaska in 1964 where he worked as a printer for the Anchorage Daily Times.
He was married to Patricia Schonfeld in Jackson, Wyoming in 1969 and they moved to Worland in 1970. He then went to work for the Northern Wyoming Daily News as a printer. In 1979 he and Pat started raising hogs. Oren helped with the local 4-H and was a member of the Wyoming Pork producers. He then went to work for Holly Sugar until 1983. Oren then worked for the Daily New as a printer until ill health forced him to retire.
He enjoyed outdoor activities, fishing, camping, boating, and hunting. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Patricia of Worland, daughter Liesa Barnum of Loomis, California, brothers Michael Wilcox of Westminster, Colorado, Bob Wilcox of Lafayette, Co, grandchildren Aaron and Nicholas Barnum. His parents preceded him in death.
