Obituary
Patricia Ann Herrera
December 21, 1939 – August 1, 2025
Patricia Ann Herrera, 85, passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2025, at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, Montana.
Patricia was born on December 21, 1939, in Basin, Wyoming, to Kenneth James and Salome "Sally" Florence (Rataezyk) Omsberg. She grew up in Manderson, where she attended school. One night at the Western Bar in Worland, she met Edward Herrera, and it was love at first sight. The two married soon after and built a life filled with love, raising seven children — five boys and two girls.
A devoted mother, Patricia's world revolved around her family. She took pride in being a stay-at-home mom and found joy in cooking, gardening, and canning the fruits of her labor. Family reunions and trips to Lagoon became wonderful memories for her and the kids. She ran a tight ship at home and was known for her firm yet loving discipline — her children knew better than to cross their mama.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. A devout member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, Patricia found peace and strength in her spiritual life. In her later years, she discovered a love for coloring and Sudoku puzzles and spent many mornings outside watching the birds and her beloved cats. Her faithful dog, Tootie, was a constant companion and held a special place in her heart.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; daughters, Debbie Hoy and Holly Herrera; sister, Kathleen Rangel; ½ brother, Kenneth Omsberg; grandchildren, Amber Hinther, Sierra Herrera, April Herrera, and Edward R. III Herrera; and nephew, Michael Rangel.
She is survived by her sons: Jeffrey "Jeff" (Claudette) Herrera of Greeley, Colorado; Steven Herrera of Worland; Mark Herrera of Worland; Edward (Katlynn) Herrera of Manderson; and Kenneth Herrera of Worland; nephews, Julio and Shane Rangel; nieces, Julie Laib and Jill Rangel; 13 grandchildren: Justin, Matthew, Joshua, Anthony, Samantha, Gabriella, Ethan, Leilani, Haley, Trenten, Carly, Cruz, and Chloe; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2025, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.bryantfuneralhomeonline.com.
