Peggy J Lease

Nov 10, 1931 — Mar 24, 2021

With the passing of a special loved one comes grief, memories, and a thankfulness, so it's with sadness, the presence of Peggy J Lease has left us to be with her Lord and family. As she said, when she hit 89, it all changed. Up until several days before her death, she was loved and cared for in her own home by her daughters, Sheri L. Hawkey Baker and Debra L. Hawkey, and son-in-law, David Baker as she wished. She was able to visit with dear friends who shared their caring and loving memories. She was born in Sheridan, Wyoming and spent her younger years in Oklahoma. During the Depression, her mother Willie-aka "Billie" Sneed, father, Carl Sneed and younger sister, Dixie McCauley returned to an area east of Sheridan, where she finished top of her class in Clearmont. She married and had her two daughters and eventually moved to the other side of the mountains near her parents. It was there she met Leslie William (Bill) Lease, and they spent the next 40 years together. Through the years, she worked as a tax account while enjoying working in her garden and creating a home full of love and beauty. She was a creative writer and the author of several small memoire books containing beautiful drawings she did. She did extensive family history research through various ancestry sources to which we will always be grateful. She enjoyed watching old westerns and at 2pm, The Five. Her passions were making bread, unfortunately not being able to share her craft with her youngest daughter, arranging beautiful (faux) flower arrangements with Debra, and watching her hummingbirds. She was content to stay at home and became an avid online shopper, again with the help of her daughter, Debra. There was a peace in her final days being lovingly cared for at the Evergreen Gene and Irene Wockner Hospice Center, where in her room aptly was a large photo of a hummingbird and she enjoyed their frequent visits to the hummingbird feeder outside her window. They knew…… In lieu of sending flowers to the family a donation to one's favorite charity would be best or to plant a tree in memory of Peggy J Lease.
