Richard Albert Axtell

November 28, 1946 - May 27, 2009

Richard Albert Axtell, Buffalo, Wyoming resident, passed away May 27, 2009 at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Richard was born on November 28, 1946 to Manley Axtell and Evelyn (Scharnow) Axtell in Akron, Colorado. Most of his life schooling was in Akron and he graduated from Akron High School in 1965. After graduation he joined the US Navy and served his Country during the Vietnam Conflict for 4 years; his last duty assignment being aboard the USS Vulcan.

He lived and worked most of his life on the Front Range of Colorado; with several of those years being employed at Hewlett Packard; and several years in the construction field.

He was preceded in death by his parents Manley and Evelyn. He is survived by two sons, Richard of Waukegan, Ill and Michael Shane of Colorado Springs, CO., brothers, David (Linda) Axtell of Worland, WY., Gary (Sandy) Axtell of Colorado Springs, CO; Aunt Fern Davisson of Akron, grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial graveside services will be held in the Akron Cemetery on July 3rd, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., with Minister Bob Butz of the Church of Christ officiating. Cremation has taken place.
