Richard L. “Rowdy” Yates 71, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Washakie Medical Center in Worland, WY following a lengthy illness.

He was born to Luther M. Yates and Etheline Brown Yates on September 6, 1942 in Santa Anna, California.

He married Mary Ann Fletcher on October 27, 1972 in Evanston, Wyoming. After his marriage to Mary, he lived in Rock Springs, WY, Denver, CO, Subic Bay, Philippines Island and Lemoore, California. After returning to Worland/Hyattville area, he and his wife Mary owned and operated the Hyattville Café before retiring in Ten Sleep.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents and his brother Terrance Yates.

He is survived by his son Brad and wife Teresa of Rock Springs, WY., grandsons Steven of Laramie, WY, and Travis of Rock Springs, his great grandson Bryson of Rock Springs, sisters: Jackie and husband Paul Clark of Long Beach, CA, Lorene and husband Donald Gould of Hungry Horse, MT, Jeanette Marshall of Anchorage, Alaska and Carmen Hartmann of Salem, OR.

Cremation has taken place and a private inurnment of the ashes will take place at a later date.
