Obituary

Robert Woodrow Aldinger

July 26, 1942 – January 12, 2025

Robert Woodrow Aldinger, 82, passed away on January 12, 2025, at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland, Wyoming.

Born on July 26, 1942, in York, Pennsylvania, to Woodrow Wilson and Anna Elizabeth (Egger) Aldinger, Bob was the second of three children. He spent 20 years in Pennsylvania working as a crane operator, helping to build grain bins. In his younger years, Bob married Vivian, and together they had two sons, Greg and David. The couple later divorced, but Bob remained devoted to his children throughout their lives. In 2000, after a memorable trail ride at Rimrock Ranch, Bob and his second wife Sue, moved to Wyoming, where they settled and started a new chapter. He worked for Schlumberger and quickly grew fond of his new life in the west. A true lover of the outdoors, Bob was passionate about horseback riding and vegetable gardening. He was known for spending time with his friends and family in which some became extended family like Katie and George, Bill, Pete and so many more. Bob lived a life filled with adventure, moving from place to place and embracing a free-spirited, gypsy-like lifestyle. His loyal border collie, Scooter, was always by his side, following him wherever he went.

Larger than life, Bob was a compassionate and eccentric individual. He remained actively involved in his sons' lives as they grew up, often participating in horse clubs and supporting their activities. His faith was central to his life, as he read his Bible daily and nurtured a special relationship with God.

Bob was predeceased in death by his parents, his first son, Greg Aldinger.

Survivors include his brother, Donald Aldinger and sister, Judy Myers (Aldinger); son, David Aldinger, daughter-in-law, Tibline, grandchildren: Robert Baker and Elizabeth Aldinger and two great-grandchildren, Sydni and Elliot.
