Obituary

Robert Norman Price

October 21, 1943 - January 10, 2025

Robert Norman Price, 81, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland, Wyoming. Born on October 21, 1943, in Cody, Wyoming, to Norman Henry and Elsie Elisabeth (Strausse) Price, Robert's early life was shaped by the family ranch, where he developed a lifelong love for horses and the land.

As a boy, Robert had a natural bond with animals, and that connection only deepened as he grew. He graduated from Cody High School in 1961, and soon after, he dedicated himself to ranching, working as a ranch hand for much of his life. He found joy in his time as an outfitter, guiding hunters through the majestic Yellowstone area, but it was with horses that he truly found his heart's calling. Robert was a true cowboy, spending countless hours taming and caring for horses, an activity that brought him satisfaction and peace.

A man of quiet faith, Robert was an active member of the Baptist church, and his faith was a cornerstone of his life. He moved to Worland in his later years to be closer to medical care after a long struggle with back pain. Even during these difficult times, his love for the simple joys of life—like the sound of hooves on a quiet morning—never wavered.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Elsie; his sister, Ruth Ann; and his brother, David.

He leaves behind his sisters, Marti Murphy, Julie Nation, and Barbara (Dennis) Donivan, brother, Paul (Pam) Price as well as a niece, Leisa Murphy, and many other cherished family members.

In keeping with Robert's wishes, there will be no formal services. His family invites all who knew him to remember his kindness and his deep connection to the land and animals he loved so much.
