Robert Harold Richins

Robert Harold Richens, 83 year old lifelong Worland resident died on ______. He was born on February 21, 1928 in Gridley, California to Harold Booth and Irma (Harding) Richens. He was raised in Henefer, Utah where he graduated from high school in 19___. After graduating from high school, He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Bob then attended college at Brigham Young University, where he met the love of his life Betty Evert. He also attended Utah State University, receiving a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, as well as the University of Wyoming and Greeley, Colorado.

He and Betty were married on August 25, 1955 and she has been his loyal partner for 56 happy years. Bob worked as a ranger in Yellowstone National Park for nine years. He and his wife lived in a trailer at Old Faithful and various lakes. Together they had 4 children and 12 grandchildren: Robert E. Richens and his children, Cory, Nicole, Brooke and Mark, Son; Kent A. Richens (wife Rosie) their children, Mike, Jason, and Jennifer; daughter Julie (husband Ben) Vega their children, Kimberly, Michelle, Marcie, and Dillon; and son, Scott J. Richens and his daughter Samantha.

The family has lived in Lyman, Wyo. for a short time before moving to Worland the first time where Bob was employed as a Elementary Principle at Eastside, Westside and Southside. They later moved to Billings, Mont. where he was a professor at Eastern Montana College and a principal at one of the Elementary Schools. They returned to Worland in 19______ where he with Betty’s father at the Washakie Abstract and Title Insurance, Evert-Richins Inc. He also worked at Worland Auto Washette, Cloud Peak Investments and Real Estate Subdivisions.

He served on First National Bank Board, Canyon Creek Village Board, and was involved with various charitable works. He was a photographer for BYU Annual during his college years. His interests included; Hunting, fishing and boating. He especially enjoyed being outdoors and watching wildlife in the mountains. Bob loved attending children’s sports events, family trips, reading, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed driving his motor home and corvette.

He is survived by: his wife, three sons, one daughter, brothers:________ sisters:__________, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
