Robert Duaine Sackett

Robert D. Sackett, 59 year old, Worland resident died at his home on February 13, 2006.

R.D. was born on July 7, 1946 in Litchfield, Illinois a son of Duaine Jr. and Stella Marie (Bethel) Sackett. The family moved to Carlinville, Illinois when R.D. was young. He received his education here and graduated from Carlinville High School in 1964. R.D. joined the Air Force where he served his country for the next four years at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, WY. He then began his career in law enforcement with the Wyoming Highway Patrol until 1979 when he moved to Worland and took a position as Under Sheriff with the Washakie County Sheriff’s Department until 1994. He was married to Terra Nichols on January 10, 1984, and they were later divorced. He also worked for R&C Trucking. R.D. was working for Oilind Safety at the time of his death.

Hobbies included spending time with his son, driving, target shooting and outdoor activities; his family and being around friends. R.D. also held a private pilots license.

He was preceded in death by, his father in December of 1999 and his step mother Phyllis in 2000. He is survived by his son Eric of Worland, daughters Sara (Clint Bain) Sackett of Worland, Andria Sackett of Avada, Colorado, mother: Stella Dey; brother, Denis (Michelle) Sackett of Normal, Illinois, sister, Diana (Greg) Joiner of Carlinville, Illinois; granddaughter, Skyelynn, 4 nieces, 3 nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
